Squabble State is conveniently located off Interstate 81 (northbound exit 1; southbound exit 3 or Exit 1A), just a few miles from downtown Bristol, in Washington County, VA.

Upon arriving, as you make your way to the Taproom, you’ll be at an approximate 2,100 ft. elevation with impressive south-facing mountain views of Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

Our gathering spaces including indoor seating, outdoor covered seating (tables and rocking chairs), outdoor firepits with seating in-the-round, outdoor picnic tables, as well as plenty of room to roam.

We are family-friendly and particularly love when folks bring their pets along. Just make sure they’re on a leash while on the property (that just applies to pets, not your kids).

Brownlow Drive is a newly created road, and mapping apps have not yet discovered the proper entrance coming from Clayman Valley Road.

What to expect when you visit

  • Dry, Blood Orange, Blackberry, Pear, Dark Cherry, Gingerbread, Cran-Cara, Semi-Sweet

  • Lager, Kolsch, Amber Ale, IPA

  • Sodas, Martinelli’s Sparkling Cider, Water

  • Pretzels, popcorn, Route 11 potato chips, candy, s’mores kits (Hershey’s & Reese’s)

  • Free for everyone. Alternatively you can buy a water bottle.

  • We regularly have food trucks on site. See our calendar to plan ahead.

  • We have a selection of table games available for customers to enjoy, in addition to cornhole boards outside.

  • We have TVs inside the taproom and on the covered patio

  • Background music is on the covered patio - nothing too loud though. Live music will either take place on the patio or outdoor depending on the weather and time of year.

  • We have several water bowls available for your furry friends. Just make sure to return them to the bar before you leave.
